Big Band Bash
Several thousand are expected to attend
the 10th annual Big Band Concert and Dance on Saturday, September 30, 12-7
p.m., to swing to the classic melodies of "yesteryear." This year's concert
will be even bigger and better, with seven hours of continuous music from
3 bands on 2 stages.
This year's event, known as the Big Band Bash by the Beach, will be dedicated
as a benefit concert for health and human service nonprofit organizations
who serve residents in North County. Thanks to the generous sponsorship
of Bill Horn, Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors, 100% of the ticket
proceeds will go to the numerous participating community agencies who serve
children and families.
The Pier Plaza Amphitheater, located at the base of the
historic Oceanside Pier in Oceanside California. Take I-5 to Mission Avenue
West.

This concert will feature the fantastic sounds of 3 big
bands comprised of former members of famous swing bands of the 40's and
50's:
Jay Wimmer and the Big Band All Stars
The Big Band Jazz Hall of Fame Orchestra
Oceanside Society Orchestra
A dance contest will take place during the course of the concert.
Couples can sign up at the event and will be judged by guest judges with
winners receiving cash and prizes.

stay independent and remain in their homes by providing daily phone calls
